Excellence in costume design recognized

Joyce A. Rekstad, Owner of J’Anne Originals, has been recognized by Cambridge Who’s Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of costume design.

Ms. Rekstad specializes in designing and creating custom clothing. At the young age of six, her flare for design and color was established when she made clothes for her doll from scraps of material. By the time she graduated high school, she was designing and creating all of her own clothes. In 1984, she opened J’Anne Originals and word of her designs spread quickly. Since then, she has expanded her offerings to include PrairieWest Designs including Calico Ingenue for young girls and Calico Ingenue Doll Clothes, PrairieWest Party Collection for young girls to adults, and French Country Home D cor, which includes aprons, pillows, quilts, and home furnishings. Handbag Collection, Pegasus Collection, Inspirational Collection, and J’Anne for Girls features Victorian and Renaissance clothing. Handbag totes include various designs: “Eclectic”, “Pegasus”, and “Inspiration Collection.” J’Anne for Girls features Victorian and Renaissance clothing.

Currently, Ms. Rekstad is in the process of creating newborn and toddler lines of clothing specializing in Christening gowns and attire under the name Amore Beb .

Ms. Rekstad received her Master of Arts in Ophthalmic Optics and Design from the University of California Los Angeles. She is a member of the National Academy of Opticianry and a supporter of the Aid to Artisans.
